About Us

History

The Bay Area Personal Watercraft Association, or BAPWA, was formed in 1991 by a group of five Jet Ski enthusiasts out of Texas City.  Since then, its membership has grown to over 100 members some years, making it one of the largest personal watercraft clubs in the nation according to the American Watercraft Association (AWA).  As life happens our current membership is about 30.  Our group has pioneered countless rides over the years and are still adding more to the list almost every year.

Purpose

BAPWA's primary purpose is to enjoy the sport of Jet Skiing, promote water safety and to give Jet Ski owners an opportunity to have family fun. These rides are scheduled from April to October, with a Spring Bash, End-of-the-Year Party, and a Christmas party as well. BAPWA also encourages and promotes the image and awareness of the personal watercraft by educating safe, considerate, and courteous use of personal watercrafts.  Moreover, we strive to follow government rules and regulations pertinent to the watercraft as may be lawfully enacted by recognized customs and etiquette.
